I’ve been around cruising a non linear pathway. Environment and education are mainly the topics that keep me busy. I completed a rewarding assignment working on sustainable transport project, which aims at improving the urban transport system in Indonesia – a really tough job!
But here I am now – started a new role with 350.org – working on anti-coal campaign movement in Indonesia. I am so up for learning and experiencing out of my comfort zone. Everyone or every organisation has their own role and I’ve chosen my role!
I am really good at influencing, giving encouragement, and gravitating people toward me. I do love interacting with and learning from people with passions and willingness to do their best. I don’t see myself as a city girl but I grew up in Jakarta which has exposed me to the dynamic of an urban socio-ecological system.
I love Karl May’s Und Friede auf Erden! and Winnetou. I enjoyed Steinbeck’s East of Eden. I grew up reading Ramayana and Mahabharata. I read Diamond’s Collapse and Sachs’ Common Wealth too. I am hunting for Sherman Alexie’s books as I fell in love with his The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. I read the Alchemist and struggling to finish Dawkins. I also haven’t done with Sophie’s World since I got it in 1997. Nope, there is no typo there. Zusack’s The Book Thief and Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns are fantastic books. I read Life of Pi both in Bahasa Indonesia and English. A great Indonesian writer for you book lovers is Pramoedya Ananta Toer with his Buru Quartet.
